Verity Engineering, D.P.C. is a full-service Civil Engineering firm with a focus in Land Development and was founded in 2017 by Brian Sipperly and Aaron J. Vera. Located in New York’s Capital Region, Verity has site plan approval experience with many of the area’s municipalities, including the Town of Colonie, Town of Bethlehem, and City of Albany.
At Verity, we provide our clients’ with a practical and straight-forward approach for all of their project’s needs. Through our combined experience we are able to equip our clients with the resources they need to navigate the design and regulatory process.

Brian Sipperly is co-founder of Verity Engineering, D.P.C., and serves as the company’s Principal Project Manager. Mr. Sipperly is also a licensed Real Estate Salesperson with HANNA Commercial Real Estate Brokerage. He provides excellent customer service to our clients by strategically managing projects ranging from commercial, medical, mixed-use, and multi-family to residential subdivisions.
He previously served as Principal Project Manager for L. Sipperly & Associates – a private Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm – which provided professional services specializing in all aspects of land development. During his time, Mr. Sipperly oversaw the operation of the company with Land Surveying and Engineering Department reporting responsibilities. He and his staff successfully managed many projects from design through construction.
Mr. Sipperly’s background successfully managing numerous projects from inception to completion has provided him with the knowledge and experience to offer excellent client service. He has intimate knowledge of all aspects of land development and the complexities of permitting and regulations. Additionally, Mr. Sipperly has fostered great working relationships with many municipal planning and engineering agencies as well as state and federal agencies, and he has proven to be skillful in the integration of requisite multi-disciplines to get projects approved.
Mr. Sipperly prides himself on building lasting relationships with our clients. He is in-sync with the inherent goal of any business – to turn a profit – and he understands the strategic importance that reputable expertise in real estate and engineering consultancy can extend toward that goal.
Aaron J. Vera, P.E. is co-founder of Verity Engineering, D.P.C. and serves as the company’s Principal Engineer. Mr. Vera is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of New York, Vermont, and Pennsylvania and has worked in the Land Development industry for over a decade.
Throughout his career Mr. Vera has focused on providing cost-effective solutions to meet the ever-changing regulations and requirements of property development. He is well-versed in New York State Department of Environmental Conservation stormwater regulations and has successfully permitted many projects including several water and sewer extensions throughout Albany County.
Mr. Vera employs modern engineering software and techniques to provide complete project documents in a timely manner. His ability to quickly provide the necessary information and analysis to clients and contractors has saved time and money on many projects. Mr. Vera’s efficient approach to projects leads to creative solutions for our clients without breaking the bank.
Being an active member of his community is also important to Mr. Vera. To that end, Mr. Vera has served on the City of Troy Planning Commission since 2015; first as a member, currently as its Chairperson.
Lindsay Zefting, P.E. has over 16 years of experience in traffic engineering and active transportation planning and engineering. As a planner and engineer, she has a unique ability to complete planning studies with feasibility and implementation in mind. Her experience ranges from statewide trail systems, regional and city-wide networks, to complete streets implementation, knowing that each layer leads to more people feeling comfortable walking and bicycling. The integration of engineering and planning experience allows her to consider broader planning visions and innovative concepts while remaining focused on the details for successful implementation.
