Located in the heart of Colonie, New York and the highly desired North Colonie School District lies Meadowdale Estates. A large-scale 324-unit residential development, sprawling across 57 acres, the project is comprised of 204 market rate apartments, 30 fee simple single-family homes, and 98 fee simple townhomes.
Verity Engineering was retained by the project sponsors for a range of construction related services including value-engineering, inspections of private utility infrastructure, and weekly inspections for compliance with NYSDEC stormwater permitting.
The proposed design changes eliminated portions of the private stormwater management systems which resulted in a substantial project savings. All design changes were approved at the subdivision-level by the municipality which avoided the need for individual homeowner stormwater maintenance agreements, a deed restriction. Costly individual stormwater systems were removed; a benefit to both the current home builder and the future homeowner.
