To meet the sport of Soccer’s growing popularity, Afrim Sports partnered with the Bethlehem Soccer Club to lease a portion of the property at 410 Wemple Road in the Hamlet of Glenmont, Albany County, NY as a place to build an indoor multi-sport dome.
This project involved the construction of a 46,000 SF air inflated multi-sport indoor dome and appurtenant features.
The site was redeveloped to minimize impact to the existing Bethlehem Soccer Club that had to concurrently operate 4 outdoor soccer fields hosting recreation and club academy play. Regrading new fields allowed for no loss of outdoor field space and no impact to conservation wetlands. The design leveraged ideal site conditions to incorporate very cost effective stormwater practices.
In 2013, Afrim Sports began the site plan approval process by integrating our staff to permit the project. Design and communication tools were employed to streamline multi-discipline coordination to meet the challenging construction schedule.
In May 2014, the Planning Board granted final project approval and negative declaration pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). The project went to bid and construction commenced in the summer of 2014. The project leveraged many of services that Verity Engineering offers spanning from land acquisition due diligence through Construction Services.
