To meet it’s growing demand, Life.Church acquired 25.5 acres of undeveloped property at 687 Watervliet Shaker Road in the Town of Colonie, Albany County, NY as a place to build a Church.
This project involved the construction of a 36,600 square foot place of worship, a pedestrian path, 1,000 feet of retaining walls, parking for over 350 vehicles, and appurtenant features.
The site was developed to minimize impact to conservation resources such as steep slopes and wetlands. The design leveraged ideal site conditions to incorporate very cost effective stormwater practices.
In 2013, Life.Church began the site plan approval process by integrating Verity Engineering staff, Small Architect (Architect) and Life.church’s in-house Design & Construction Team. The Teams were separated by over 1,500 miles; cutting edge design and communication tools were employed to streamline multi-discipline coordination to meet the challenging construction schedule.
In August 2015, the Town of Colonie Town Board granted an Open Development Area designation for the parcel. October 2015, the Planning Board granted final project approval and negative declaration pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). The project went to bid and construction commenced in the spring of 2016. The project leveraged many of services that Verity Engineering offers spanning from land acquisition due diligence through Construction Services.
